May 10, 2010, Mobile Commerce Daily - Children's Miracle Network raises $21,525 in one day via SMS (News Story) - Nonprofit organization Children’s Miracle Network has extended its fundraising efforts through SMS to leverage the habits of a younger demographic to support its cause. The annual National Radiothon on April 29 included a Text to Give component which was powered by ZipGive of Toronto that specializes in cause-related mobile marketing. Next to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts, the Children’s Miracle Network campaign was the most successful mobile giving campaign to date in Canada, raising $25,525 in a single day via SMS donations of $5 per person. March 29, 2010, CWTA Communique - TELUS SUPPORTS WWF CANADA WITH EARTH HOUR TEXT-TO-DONATE CAMPAIGN - TELUS, in cooperation with the Mobile Giving Foundation, has introduced a new way for Canadians to show their support for Earth Hour 2010 by texting donations to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Canada, the official organizer of Canada’s Earth Hour. Through their mobile devices, customers can text the word “EARTH” to 45678 to donate $5, to a maximum of $30 each month. (story here)
